EU-VRi is a European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG), which aims to facilitate or develop the economic activities of its members by pooling of resources, activities and skills, thus yielding new opportunities, not or hardly achievable for members when acting alone. In 2016 EU-VRi has 48 (6 founding / 36 associate / 6 honorary) members coming from 21 countries and from various sectors. EU-VRi promotes the integration of Safety and Security in industry and research and supports the identification and facilitation of standardization opportunities within European research with dedicated services and activities.

EU-VRi is coordinating the Supplier Platform of the EDEN project that is reaching out for innovative solutions throughout the CBRN security cycle. In addition, EU-VRi is in charge of standardization aspects on behalf of the EDEN consortium and co-coordinates the CSA ResiStand, aiming to increase disaster resilience by establishing a sustainable process to support standardisation of technologies and services, including CBRN.

EU-VRi acts as Operating Agent for ETPIS (European Technology Platform for Industrial Safety, www.industrialsafety-tp.org). The platform is an open forum in the field of industrial safety gathering more than 800 experts from industry, research organization, policy makers, NGOs. ETPIS helps to coordinate the investment in research by supporting the identification of research challenges and by organizing technical event such as workshops and brokerage events.
